Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you type a name, a case number, or a date of birth into a search box on this site, that input passes straight to the outside company that runs the search. We do not keep it, log it, or store it on our servers. The partner handles the query under its own policy.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we keep the message long enough to answer it. It stays with our team. We do not hand it to anyone outside the organization unless the law requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
A page load leaves behind some technical detail. Our servers pick up the following:
- The IP address your device used
- The browser you are on and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you opened and how long each stayed on screen
- The site that referred you, when one did
- A timestamp for every page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files a site stores on your device. We use them to see which pages draw traffic and where readers stop. Analytics services help us pull that traffic into aggregate numbers. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking them may change how parts of the site behave.
What We Do With This Data
We use what we collect for a short list of purposes:
- Sending your search request to the right partner service
- Keeping the site online and loading quickly
- Learning which pages help readers and which need work
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Showing ads that may match your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, or sell a database of warrants or personal warrant records. We publish general guidance on where Barry County warrant records sit and how to reach them: the 56-B District Court, the 5th Judicial Circuit Court and the County Clerk, and the Barry County Sheriff's Office. Michigan runs no public statewide warrant search, and we do not act as one. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we gather about visitors is turned into a consumer report or a file on a third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
The search boxes here are run by outside companies. What you type into one is processed under that partner's privacy policy, not this one. Those companies set their own retention and sharing rules, and we have no control over them. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
This site points to sheriff's office pages, court portals, legal aid groups, and outside search tools. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and that site's privacy policy then applies to your visit. Read it before you share personal details.
Some advertising partners may follow activity across sites to place targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A few parties may still see some of it:
- Search partners that handle the queries you run here
- Ad networks that serve ads on our pages
- Analytics services that measure traffic and performance
- Law enforcement or a government body when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security practices to protect the data we collect. No site connected to the internet can promise perfect safety. We take reasonable steps, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never happen.
Users Under 18
This site is built for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us data, contact us and we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Public records held by Michigan courts and county offices fall under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act (MCL 15.231 through 15.246), and court files themselves follow Michigan Court Rule 8.119. Where state law gives you a right over personal data we hold, you can at a minimum:
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
- Have us correct information that is wrong
- Ask us to erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may change. When it does, the new version goes up on this page with a fresh effective date. Check back to see how we handle visitor information.
